How is a relationship with the King different from being in a religion?
From the beginning God’s plan and desire was to have a relationship with mankind. And mankind to have a direct relationship with him and his heavenly kingdom. It was never God’s desire to have a formal established religion.
Any religion is something man created to substitute a missing vacuum in the soul. This is why our Creator God is never an object, a magic genie, a universe or a “it” in the sky.
The word “religion” displays systems, following traditions, systematic belief systems that are simple to very complex belief systems. Every culture through history has some form of cultural religious practice to create and address mysterious questions of life.
Many of them are ideas, theories, philosophies, custom laws or principles or someone’s personal conviction. The goal of any religious practice is to satisfy an internal spiritual craving inside of every human.
In the beginning there was not a recorded religious system or code for man to follow. In the book of Genesis, Moses the writer, never documents a formal religious system.
Yes, the citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven can gather together but they influence and share with the world.
God never wanted to relate to man through any religious system. He wanted mankind to have direct access to him. God wanted mankind to know his plans, heart, and mind.
As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? - King David
God already had this in mind at the beginning and he always wanted to share His spiritual domain with His children. The King is not religious he is relational. Simple truth.
